Sculptworks Courses Ability levels

At beginner’s level: Students would become familiar with the tools and techniques and they would gain a good understanding of the stones characteristics.
A stone relief carving or a simple bold sculpture in a soft stone would be achieved in this course.

Improver level :Students would learn to hone in on their tool skills and techniques and start to develop the creative thought process in making stone carving or sculptures.
At this level students would be trying out other methods of carving such as high relief, bas-relief, lettering, and finer carvings on harder stones.

At intermediate level: Students would be encouraged to start to develop their tools skills further and have a good knowledge of tools and techniques.
Developing a style and making more judgement on how their sculptures are developing would be expected.

Advanced students would be knowledgeable with tools, techniques and methods of carving and have experience of carving various stones; they would be guided and encouraged to develop their style of carving to a professional level.
At this level students would be creating sculptures of their own designs
